Our next major event is the British launch of Jane Speedy’s new book ‘ Staring at the Park’ published by Left Coast Press. This event, chaired by Professor Susan Robertson, director of research for the Graduate School of Education, will take place in room 410, on the top floor of the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol, 5.30 – 7.00pm,Thursday October 22nd 2015. Professor Speedy, who is Emeritus Professor of Education at the University, will read extracts from her poetic autoethnography about the time her life was upended by suffering a near-fatal stroke and, after a spell in hospital, she found herself sitting staring at St Andrews Park, opposite her bedroom window. Her talk will be introduced by two of her former doctoral students: Dr Ken Gale from the University of Plymouth and Dr Jonathan Wyatt from the University of Edinburgh.
